Filmore & Union bringing ‘feel good’ Moroccan food to Yorkshire and Newcastle this FebruaryJanuary 31, 2018 10:44 am
Looking to try something new and fresh in your local area? With the success of the Moroccan Night we ran at our Beverley restaurant last year, we are bringing it back on Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th February 2018 at our Wetherby, Skipton, Harrogate, Jesmond, Ilkley, Beverley and York Petergate restaurants.
Here at Filmore & Union, we are all about using eclectic, wellness inspired, wholesome ingredients that leave you feeling energised rather than sluggish. We love the fact that Moroccan food uses so many different flavour combinations to create fresh, vibrant dishes. Moroccan food is also known for using a range of fresh plant-based ingredients that soak up the spices and sauces. Taking inspiration from this, we’ve created a menu that features both vegan and meat dishes and the majority of it is gluten-free, so there is something for everyone. Our restaurants are perfect for an evening that is filled with delicious food and cosy ‘neighbourhood dining’ vibes – just how they do it in Morocco.
The three-course menu for £21.95 comprises of a gluten-free starter sharing board of spinach hummus with ricotta and cumin courgettes, babaganoush with seeded flatbreads, harissa roasted prawns, olives and sun-dried tomatoes, giving you the perfect opportunity to try something new. A choice of main dishes includes a wonderful vegan north African sweet potato and apricot tagine and for non-vegans, there’s a lamb, spinach and prune tagine or malay spiced chicken and vegetable tagine, all of which are gluten and dairy free! To finish is a dessert sharing board with rich and sumptuous date and chocolate cream, honey roasted figs, and warm pistachio cake with rose yoghurt. Why not top it off with a signature Filmore cocktail or spicy infusion?
Founder Adele Ashley says: “I’ve always loved Moroccan food and culture – our branding even features a Moroccan style border – and we feature a lot of Moroccan inspiration on our standard menus. However, the Moroccan Night is our opportunity to really go to town with experimenting with flavour combinations and give those who haven’t yet embraced Moroccan food the chance to see how diverse, interesting and satisfying it can be. It’s a great chance to get together as a group and have an exotic evening out on your local high
